Doctor's Appointments

On Thursday we took the kids to the doctor's office for their 18 and 4 month check ups. Both were getting shots (Ethan had to get an extra mmr shot because of a measels outbreak here in Tucson), so luckily Daniel was able to go with me. Well we get to the doctors and Ethan was his happy curious self, playing with all the toys, saying hi to the receptionist... until he saw the doctor and realized we're not in a fun play room, but at the doctors office. He immediately bagan backing up towards the door (Daniel and I were chuckling a little at this and couldn't believe he remember who the doctor was). It took some coaxing to get him to go back into the examining room rather than running for the exit, but we finally got him in there. The rest of the visit consisted of crying for several reasons: 1) being man handled to check ears and eyes 2) shots hurt 3) even 18 month olds are protective of their little sisters, and 4)it's what toddlers do when they're upset. Oh and did I forget to mention when Ethan is upset he like to bang his head on whatever can cause the most amount of damage. This time it was the hard laminate floor in the examining room. Poor kid had a rough morning. Addie was a trooper. She cried for a minute, took a deep breath, began sucking on her pacifier and was back to her happy self. All in all we survived, but there were some touch and go moments. As for the stats Ethan weighs in at 25 lbs and is 34 inches tall (50th percentile) and Adelaide is 18 lbs. 2 oz. and 28 inches long (99th percentile). Most importantly we have two beautiful, health and very happy (except when we are at the Peditrician's office)kids that we would not trade for the world.

I am very impressed that Ethan wanted to protect his little sister from the big mean doctor! He should get extra lollipops for that!

p.s. Don't tell him his Grandpa is a big mean Doctor...it could ruin a very happy relationship.

Well you know what they say about girls and boys....we ladies have a stronger pain threshold than boys...apparently Addie proved THAT theory. :)

So cute though, bout Ethan was protective of his little sister. :)
